Vacancy InformationThe salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly. Hourly rate of pay: £15.16 - £16.30 Days and Hours of Work:Days of working are negotiable, flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible.To start asap. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Assessment Officer within the Revenues Service. IT equipment will be provided. We are seeking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic Financial Assessment Officer to join our Financial Inclusion Team. The role is a unique blend of complex financial duties and exceptional customer service. Training will be given. The successful candidate will have an excellent background in customer services and working in an office environment. The successful candidate will be confident working with numbers, performing calculations and reading financial documents. They will have experience of following guidelines from external agencies and following policies and procedures both internal and external. The successful candidate will be confident working with vulnerable clients and communicate financial information with families in a sensitive and empathetic manner. The successful candidate will be able to work as an individual and as a team. They will liaise with Social Workers, Solicitors, Care homes and other professionals to obtain accurate financial data. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills. They will confident working with Microsoft Office applications and other council IT systems. The successful candidate will actively promote and represent East Lothian Council’s vision, values and cooperate culture. They will be positive, customer focused and support employee engagement to the highest standard. Please note this role will be office based until training has been completed, then the opportunity to discuss if a Home/Hybrid working arrangement is possible, but not guaranteed. Driving Licence A full current driving licence is desirable for this post. Level 1 Disclosure Clearance This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance to allow access to the Public Sector Network. ELC will submit a Police Act Disclosure application on behalf of the preferred candidate and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
