Vacancy InformationHourly rate of pay: £20.13 - £22.51 Days and Hours of Work:Potential working days will be from Monday - Friday, hours will vary.To start 10th August 2026. East Lothian Works are recruiting experienced individuals to work with adults and young people (16+ and post school) to improve the numeracy, literacy, IT and employability skills. In line with the Scottish Government’s Adult Learning Strategy and No One Left Behind, tutors will be part of the wider employability team, offering a learner-centred approach and supporting those furthest away from the labour market to make meaningful progression along the strategic skills pipeline. Tutors will be expected to delivery unaccredited learning either 1-1 or in small groups. Successful applicants will be recruited on a casual basis to meet business needs. Please Note: There is no guaranteed no of hours per week with casual posts. Job DetailsTo prepare and deliver learning including a range of unaccredited core skills and employability courses to young people and adults in group and 1:1 settings. Driving LicenceA full current driving licence is desirable for this post. PVG MembershipThis post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
