Maintenance Technician
Salary: Dependent on experience
Location: Glenrothes
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Double Days – 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm
Role Summary
An excellent opportunity is available for a Maintenance Technician to join a leading engineering and manufacturing environment supporting the production of high-quality industrial equipment. The Maintenance Technician will play a key role in maintaining manufacturing assets, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement activities across the facility. The facility is a precision machining and assembly site, you will be working with CNC machines, PLCs, and a combination of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical components.
Role & Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment and maintenance techniques
- Support equipment reliability improvements through planned maintenance activities
- Identify and eliminate root causes of unplanned downtime
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance activities to a high standard
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to reduce waste
- Share technical knowledge and information with colleagues across the business
- Assist with identifying common equipment faults and implementing corrective actions
- Contribute to improving maintenance systems, procedures, and work standards
- Design and implement minor equipment improvements where required
- Support Health & Safety standards within the manufacturing environment
- Work collaboratively within the engineering team to ensure operational efficiency
- The Maintenance Technician will support ongoing production performance through effective maintenance activities
Requirements of the Role
- ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Previous experience working on CNC machinery, with PLCs or with hydraulics would be advantageous
- Good working knowledge of maintenance techniques and equipment reliability
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic approach with willingness to learn and develop
- acThe successful Maintenance Technician will demonstrate strong technical and organisational skills
- Experience supporting continuous improvement activities is highly desirable
- The Maintenance Technician should be capable of working independently and collaboratively
