Part-Time Pre-Assessment Nurse

One Ashford Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, is looking for an experienced part-time pre-assessment nurse to join their team on a part time basis.

The successful Part-Time Pre-Assessment Nurse will:

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred pre-assessment care to support safe and effective surgical pathways
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care in line with clinical policies and protocols
• Undertake clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and medication training Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation
• Provide health education and emotional support to patients and their families Work autonomously while collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate assessments, investigations and discharge planning
• Support the implementation of service protocols in line with nationally accredited guidelines and evidence-based practice

Part-Time Pre-Assessment Nurse

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC.

Experience

• Clinical nursing experience in acute surgical care and preferably experience in pre assessment clinics.
• Proven ability to work independently and within a team.

Skills

• Demonstrable knowledge and skills and competency of required clinical practice.
• Phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs, and intravenous antibiotics would be an advantage.
• Comprehensive written, numerical and verbal communication skills
• Experience in computer skills using MS Office Suite and web based reporting systems.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
• Excellent customer service skills.
• A sound understanding of safeguarding principles and policies, with the ability to act appropriately to protect vulnerable individuals.

Desirables

• Enthusiasm for cross functional working within clinical departments as reasonably required.
• Experience in the private sector.
• Experience in pre-assessment clinics.
