Bank/Relief Support Workers

We are looking for exceptional Relief Support Workers to join our fantastic teams in Paisley. The hours and days will be varied accoding to business needs, spread over the week including weekends.  The position would suit someone not able to commit to regular permanent shifts per week but would be available to offer their support when requested. It could also suit someone who is interested in Social Work as a career - maybe a student or someone who wants to try a new career.

As a Relief Support Worker you will be expected to create environments where the people we support can develop interests, skills, and relationships to enable them to live fulfilling lives in their local community. The job is hard work but extremely rewarding.

Responsibilities:

• Provide physical & emotional support
• Understand the individual needs and offer guidance
• Create a friendly and happy environment
• Encourage and help develop skills
• Assist with medical & welfare needs 
• Provide personal care if required
• Attend reviews to discuss health and well being
• Accompany individuals on outings
• Liaise with relatives and staff members
• Maintain a safe and clean place to live

Requirements:

• Able to show compassion, dignity and respect
• Understand and consider the needs of others
• Must be a good listener 
• Be an excellent communicator – written and oral
• Willing to undertake SVQ qualification and attend all training
• Experience of working with people with complex learning disabilities would be an advantage however not essential, as we offer excellent Induction and on-going training for all staff
• Ideally have SVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care
• A driving licence would also be desirable

Working together with the people we support can make a real difference to their lives. Some of our services may require sleep over and overnight holidays.
