TANK is looking for a junior art director/designer to join our creative team. This is a role for someone who thinks carefully about how a photograph is made, what it communicates, and how it sits on a page. Beyond the visual, we are looking for someone who understands and aligns with TANK’s broader cultural sensibility: a curiosity about culture, politics and ideas that runs alongside our fashion work. You will be embedded in the production of our fashion editorial work from the earliest stages of concepting through to shoot days. You understand the language of fashion photography, and are comfortable in the room with the people who make it. We are looking for someone interested in how stories and ideas translate across formats and contexts spanning print, digital and IRL. We are open to applications from candidates with a range of backgrounds and routes into the industry. What matters most is a clear point of view and a genuine connection to the work. The starting role and title will be defined in conversation with the right candidate, based on their experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO Develop concepts and moodboards for fashion editorial shoots in collaboration with the creative director Represent TANK on set – maintaining the magazine's visual standards and creative intent throughout production Build and maintain relationships with photographers, stylists, hair and make-up artists, and other creative collaborators Research and identify talent aligned with the magazine's aesthetic direction Support the creative director across layout, image selection, and visual development Work on editorial design for features across print and digital, from layouts and typography to image sequencing and online presentation Contribute to white label creative projects for external clients, adapting the studio's design sensibility to briefs outside the magazine Think across formats – contributing to 360 content that spans print, digital, and live or IRL activations, finding the right expression for each context WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR A strong, demonstrable interest in photography and fashion – you follow the field closely and have opinions about it Some experience in fashion editorial, whether through an internship, assisting, personal projects, or another creative discipline A considered visual sensibility and the ability to communicate it clearly to collaborators Someone who is organised, calm under pressure, and good at building trust with creative people Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; a portfolio that shows how you think visually We are a small team – everyone contributes across the board.
