The role involves working as part of a dedicated and committed team collecting our many varied  waste streams from our busy departments and wards helping  ensure the provision of a positive environment for our patients. Good communications are essential as you will work as part of a team in departments across the Trust., and the possession of a  C1 category on your driving license will prove advantageous  as part of the role will involve driving around the site in a 7.50 ton vehicle. The job is varied and interesting, you will be able to work using your own initiative and collaborate as part of a whole team contributing to its success as a service . So pick up the phone and contact  The Operations Manager on 01225 826308  Monday to Friday or email [email protected] Main duties of the job MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: To work as part of a team of Waste Porters collecting Clinical, Non-clinical, Hazardous, Non-hazardous, furniture and used laundry from wards and departments in preparation for collection by waste and laundry contractors GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Physical Effort     Duties will include the handling and movement of linen, waste and other items, internally through the hospital corridors and externally around the hospital grounds.     Safe movement in all areas is of paramount importance.     Duties may involve long periods of pulling and pushing of extremely heavy goods.     Duties will include long periods of walking at a brisk pace.     You will need to be physically fit, as you will be required to walk and push trolleys and cages for long periods over long distances.
