Job overview An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, proactive Ward Clerk within the Paediatric Unit who will primarily be based on our Children's Ward. The successful post holder will be expected to cover other Paediatric / Neonatal areas if required. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a Team, has good interpersonal skills and are efficient individuals with excellent communication and IT skills. You will be an integral member of the team, providing an effective day-to-day clerical support to facilitate the smooth running of these services. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be required to provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and clerical activities. These will include answering the telephone, meeting and greeting staff, filing, general clerical duties such as data collection and using NHS IT systems e.g. EMIS, in order to meet the needs of the service in accordance with Departmental, Trust and National standards, policies and procedures.
