We are recruiting mentors and pastoral support staff to work in special schools across Dudley, Sandwell, Wolverhampton and Walsall, supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional needs. This role suits individuals who are passionate about mentoring, wellbeing and reinstallations support. Mentor Roles in Special Schools – What to Expect Working as a mentor in a special school is highly rewarding and impactful. You will support pupils who need consistency, understanding and encouragement to engage with education. Typical responsibilities include: 1:1 and small‑group mentoring Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management Acting as a positive, trusted adult role model Supporting pupils to re‑engage with learning Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams Supporting pupils both in the classroom and around the school site Working in a Special School Special schools offer structured, supportive environments where staff are never working alone.
