Dental Nurses will be provided with a base clinic/department when appointed but will be expected to work flexibly across different sites where dental treatment is provided. To provide chair side assistance to clinicians within the dental service plus arranging/supporting a clinician with any necessary domiciliary visits or visits to external sites. To assist in screening, epidemiology, and research programmes. To carry out clerical and administrative duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinic/department. Applicants must be GDC registered to proceed with application Main duties of the job • Maintain a high standard of patient care and confidentiality within all dental clinics throughout the service. • The Dental Service compromises of a wide range of locations, specialities and services, the post holder will be required to provide comprehensive chair side and administrative support to a clinician within all clinical sites across Dental services. • To prepare and monitor patients for and during their dental treatment, providing pre and post operative instructions as required. • To undertake the general care of the surgery including dental equipment/instruments (medical devices) and arrange any necessary repairs as required. • To ensure medical emergency drugs and equipment are available and up to date. • To provide chair side assistance and postoperative instructions during general anaesthetic and exodontia sessions as required. • To provide oral health education to patients as required by the clinician.
