Qualified or Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Your new company Hays Education is working in partnership with a high‑performing and values‑driven secondary academy in North London to recruit a skilled and committed Qualified or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA or HLTA to take on a key support role within a secondary setting that places a strong emphasis on inclusion, high expectations and positive relationships. Your new role As a Qualified or Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide targeted support to students, including 1:1 and small‑group work Deliver pre‑planned learning activities and interventions under teacher direction Support students with additional needs, including SEND and behavioural support Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting engagement in learning Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to raise attainment and progress Contribute to assessment, monitoring and reporting of student progress where appropriate What you'll need to succeed We are keen to hear from candidates who: Hold a Level 3 TA qualification, HLTA status, or equivalent relevant qualification Have experience working in a secondary school environment Demonstrate confidence supporting learning across a range of subjects and abilities Are calm, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice Hold, or are willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS What you'll get in return Competitive daily rates of pay through Hays Education Opportunities for long‑term and ongoing work in secondary schools Access to free CPD, safeguarding training and professional development Dedicated guidance and support from a specialist Hays Education consultant What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
