The Department of Clinical Haematology in the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT) provides a tertiary regional service to a population of 1.4 million. It includes consultants broadly covering all major specialties in haematology with variable levels of site specialisation. The post holder will join the existing team of haematology consultants involved in red cell and transfusion services and a second consultant at the Horton hospital. Main duties of the job Clinical Haematology The Haematology department provides comprehensive treatment of all haematological malignancies (including allogeneic bone marrow transplantation) and non-malignant haematological conditions, including coagulation disorders and is closely associated with the NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), Blood Transfusion Centre in Oxford. The Clinical service is located at the Churchill Hospital, with 25 inpatient beds, comprehensive outpatient and day care facilities, and dedicated research beds.
