Material Planner - Hybrid

Materials Planner (Temporary) £19–£22 per hour Kettering Temporary – 1 to 3 months Immediate / ASAP start Hybrid working – 2 days in the office once trained We’re working with a well-established FMCG manufacturer in Kettering who are looking for a temporary Materials Planner to support their supply chain team during a busy period. We’re keen to hear from candidates with a materials planning or production background , ideally with experience working within FMCG or fast-moving manufacturing environments . This role focuses on keeping materials flowing smoothly to site, supporting production plans, managing suppliers, and maintaining control over stock levels. What you’ll be doing Ensuring raw materials are available to avoid any disruption to production Raising and managing supplier orders in line with demand, lead times, and agreed terms Managing short- and medium-term material forecasts to provide supplier visibility Monitoring stock levels and identifying risks around shortages, ageing stock, or write-offs Reviewing supplier performance and supporting corrective actions where needed Producing clear updates and reports on material availability and inventory risk Working closely with Production Planning to manage plan changes and minimise operational impact Supporting Quality, Technical, Packaging, and Commercial teams with material-related changes What we’re looking for Experience in materials planning, supply planning, inventory control, or production planning Background within FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing Strong numerical and analytical skills Experience working with ERP / MRP systems and suppliers Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing competing priorities Nice to have (but not essential): Exposure to S&OP / SIOP Lean or continuous improvement experience Interest in automated or digital planning tools Why this role?
