Project Accountant Contract - 6 Months (inside IR35) Birmingham (Hybrid - 2 days per week in office) Start Date: ASAP Overview Viqu Energy are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support a Finance team on a 6-month contract following a recent system migration. This role is critical in ensuring reconciliation processes are automated, efficient, and fully documented for business-as-usual (BAU) operations. Key Responsibilities Work closely with the Finance team to automate the reconciliation of Sales Ledger upload files into the new billing system. Automate the cash reconciliation process for seamless integration into BAU. Produce clear, detailed documentation of all processes, ensuring they are robust and future-proof. Develop and automate aged debtors' ledger reporting at invoice level. Analyse large data sets to identify discrepancies and improve reconciliation accuracy. Support continuous improvement of finance processes and controls. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience in finance reconciliations, particularly with large data sets. Advanced Excel skills, including strong working knowledge of Power Query. Demonstrated ability to automate and streamline monthly finance processes. Self-starter with the confidence to take ownership and work independently. Excellent organisational and documentation skills, with the ability to present data clearly. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Ability to communicate financial issues effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Experience in the Energy sector is desirable.
