About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established engineering and industrial services business based in Southampton. The company is seeking a reliable and proactive Workshop Assistant to support daily workshop operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in a hands-on technical environment. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacturing and assembling products in line with pick lists and works orders
• Supporting counter sales and responding to customer enquiries
• Assisting with stock takes and inventory control
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
• Adhering to quality control and non‑conformance procedures at all times
• Following all company procedures and contributing ideas for continuous improvement
• Communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues, customers, and suppliers
• Carrying out additional tasks as directed by the Workshop Supervisor

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• High attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures
• Previous workshop or manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential
• Full training provided for the successful candidate

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 5:30pm
• Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm
• 40 hours per week with a 45‑minute lunch break
