School Welfare Officer

Your new company Hays Education is working in partnership with a secondary school in Wembley to recruit a Teaching Assistant with a First Aid qualification to provide temporary cover in the school welfare room from May 2026. This role will involve supporting students’ medical and wellbeing needs throughout the school day, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Your new role Supporting the day-to-day running of the school welfare room Providing first aid to students in line with school policies and procedures Supporting students with medical conditions as required Working confidently with secondary-age students Liaising with teaching staff and pastoral teams when necessary Maintaining accurate records of incidents and care provided What you'll need to succeed Essential: Valid First Aid qualification Experience working with secondary-age students Confidence managing student wellbeing and medical needs Desirable: Experience supporting students with diabetes or other medical conditions What you'll get in return Dedicated education recruitment specialists Access to temporary and long-term opportunities Ongoing professional support If you are available from May 2026 and meet the above criteria, we would be keen to hear from you.
