Your new company A public sector grounds maintenance role helps create safe, clean and welcoming outdoor spaces for communities. It combines skilled hands‑on work with a strong sense of purpose, supporting tenants, protecting green areas and delivering reliable, high‑quality service that strengthens trust and enhances everyday neighbourhood life. Your new role Operate, maintain and carry out minor repairs on a wide range of mechanical, electrical and handheld grounds‑maintenance equipment. Establish, maintain and improve shrub beds, grassed areas and landscaped spaces, including planting, pruning, mulching and reseeding. Remove litter, debris and fly‑tipped materials from hard surfaces, green areas and waterways. Safely apply chemicals, pesticides and weed‑killers in line with COSHH procedures. Load, unload and transport equipment, materials and waste as required. Ensure all work is completed safely, to a high standard, and in compliance with Health & Safety legislation and risk assessments. Accurately complete job records using paperwork, PDAs and mobile devices within required timescales. Report hazards, accidents, near misses and potential public liability risks promptly. Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and customers, maintaining good relationships and supporting service delivery. What you'll need to succeed A full current driving licence which includes B1+E / C1+E licence category.
