Then Look no further! We are looking for a compassionate, caring and motivated individual to join our team at the Acute Medical Unit at Royal Preston Hospital. AMU is a busy, fast paced department, with high patient turnover and where every day is different. This is an advert for a 16 hour a week contact, working hours open to discussion for the right person. You will ensure that standards of service are maintained, have a strongly held commitment to high standards of service delivery. You will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective reception, completing all necessary ward clerk jobs  with strict adherence to Trust protocols, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity and being the first point of contact for patients attending our department. You will deal with all aspects of the ward clerk role including  supporting the band 6 on the unit with patient admin as well as actively participating in the receptionist process, activating inpatients, assisting with discharges and updating patient demographics and  supporting organisation on the unit. You will be multi-skilled following training, have a full understanding and working knowledge of a reception area and the basic functionality of the clinical systems.
