We are currently recruiting for a reliable and vigilant Fire Watcher to join our team at Darent Valley Hospital. This is a critical safety role within a busy healthcare environment, helping to ensure the ongoing protection of patients, staff, visitors, and property. Working on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, you will play a key part in maintaining fire safety standards across the hospital site. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular fire watch patrols across designated areas of the hospital Monitor for potential fire hazards, including hot works and high-risk activities Ensure fire exits, escape routes, and firefighting equipment remain clear and accessible Maintain accurate records of patrols and report any safety concerns immediately Respond promptly and appropriately to fire alarms and emergency situations Liaise with site management, contractors, and hospital staff regarding fire safety matters Support compliance with fire safety policies and procedures What We’re Looking For Strong observational skills and attention to detail Calm and professional approach in a busy healthcare environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good written and verbal communication skills Physically fit as walking is required Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high safety standards Previous experience in security, fire watch, or a similar role is desirable but not essential (training can be provided) What We Offer £13.11 per hour Consistent 4 on, 4 off shift pattern offering work-life balance Full training and site induction Opportunity to work in a respected NHS hospital environment Supportive management team Why Join Us?
