Job Description: To work to the GBG Project Manager, monitoring Great Bustard productivity and habitat use in Wiltshire
Duration: Starting 1st July 2026
Ending 31st March 2029
Key responsibilities:
- Locate and record Great Bustard nests using drones with thermal imagers
- Monitor hatch rates and chick survival
- Evaluate causes of predation
- Monitor habitat use by females with chicks
- Radio track chicks
- Input data and evaluate and present findings
Core skills and requirements:
- Familiarity with ARCGIS or similar
- Full UK Driving Licence (own transport desirable due to remote location and unpredictable hours)
- High degree of self-reliance and tolerance of early morning starts
- Ability to work within a team including volunteers
- Extensive practical field work experience
Contract: Salary - up to £30,000pa
Hours: 40 hours per week with flexible hours and days.
Leave: 28 paid leave days a year including public holidays
